The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, family, and pets safely evacuated from Los Angeles fires

The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, along with his family and his pets, have been safely evacuated from their home amid the California wildfires.
A post to Wilson’s official website confirmed the Pet Sounds legend had been evacuated last Wednesday (January 8). The Southern California wildfires, which began on January 7, are said to have affected over a thousand properties and there are no signs at present of the blaze slowing down.
A statement from Wilson’s team confirmed he was safely evacuated, and his family are sending their love to those also affected by the fires. Their statement reads: “Brian, his family and pets evacuated their home last Wednesday. Their hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragic Los Angeles fires.
“They want to thank the Los Angeles Fire Department and the other fire departments who have come from all over to help. They also want to send love to the selfless volunteers who jumped in to help and the amazing outpouring of support for the community.”
The statement, which was also posted to Wilson’s Twitter/X account, saw fans wish him and his family well, sending their love after the evacuation on Wednesday. Fellow Beach Boys member Al Jardine has since shared a link to a list of organisations accepting donations to help those affected by the fire.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “To make a donation to help those affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles, visit aljardine.com for a list of organizations recommended by the Los Angeles Fire Department. Thank you.”
Linked on his website are the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery, American Red Cross, and Salvation Army.
It comes as fellow musicians and artists evacuate their homes which have since been affected by the fires. Independent artist Christina Holland and her partner, Charlie Weinmann, have had over £35,000 raised for them after their home in Altadena was burnt down, along with most of their belongings.
A GoFundMe page for the couple, which can be found here, reads: “They evacuated their home urgently on the night of 01/07/25 with the bare minimum. They lost everything they owned and cherished, including cameras, musical instruments, bicycles, camping gear, tools, all their clothing & home furnishings, and their beloved camper van. Not to mention everything that comes with making a home.
“The couple had planned to use the home as their creative sanctuary, hoping to build their dream careers in 2025. The space was small but beautiful, and now they need help getting on their feet as they search for what’s next.
“Currently displaced, these funds will be used to help Christina and Charlie cover expenses as they navigate meeting immediate needs, finding a new home, and assisting their beloved community in recovery from this historic devastation.”
